CollapseWhat It Does
Every tool in this list solves one problem. One thing. That is it.
The Transcript Cleaner solves this one: your transcription software mangles names and it is costing you listeners.
Every time Descript or Otter or whatever you use writes your show name wrong or misspells a guest name, that error gets baked into your transcript. If Apple or Spotify or an AI like ChatGPT indexes that transcript, they associate your show with the wrong words. You become invisible for the search terms that should be finding you.
This tool reads your transcript, compares it against a vocabulary list you build over time, fixes every error it knows about, and asks you about anything it is not sure about. The more you use it, the smarter it gets.
Why This Matters
Here is what we know right now about transcripts and discoverability.
Apple launched auto-generated transcripts in March 2024. By late 2025 they had processed over 125 million episodes. Their global head of podcasts said publicly that their "journey to transcripts started with expanding their indexing." That is a direct signal from an executive that transcripts are tied to how Apple finds and surfaces shows.
Spotify rolled out AI-powered features in 2026 that read transcripts to answer listener questions about episodes and build personalized playlists. If your transcript is full of errors, Spotify's AI is working with bad data about your show.
And then there is the bigger picture. AI platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude are increasingly being used to discover podcasts. What they know about your show comes from crawlable text on the web. Your transcript is one of the biggest sources of that text. If it is wrong, you are teaching every AI on the internet the wrong things about your show.
Clean transcripts are not a nice-to-have anymore. They are a discoverability tool.
Where It Fits
There are only three ways to grow a podcast. Get more listeners. Get those listeners to come back more often and listen longer. Make enough money to keep doing it.
The Transcript Cleaner sits in that first one. It helps new listeners find you by making sure the text that represents your show actually says the right things about your show.
